In this post, I will show how you can copy the songs from a music CD to your computer. The instructions below are for SwiftDisc Burning Wizard 2.30. If you are using another version, some of the steps may be different.
1. Install SwiftDisc Burning Wizard.
If you do not have a copy of SwiftDisc Burning Wizard already, you can download and install it from http://www.swiftdisc.com. The program comes in two editions: Standard and Premium. For this tutorial, we will use SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Standard edition.
2. Start SwiftDisc Burning Wizard.
You can run SwiftDisc Burning Wizard from:
* The start menu: Go to "Start" -> Select "All programs" -> "SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Standard 2.30"
OR
* The shortcut that the installation created on your desktop. To do that simply double-click the "SwiftDisc Burning Wizard" icon.
3. Choose project.
After starting SwiftDisc Burning Wizard, you will initially be shown an "About" dialog. Press "Continue". This will lead you to the initial screen of the program:

There are three ways to name the audio files on your computer:
- If the CD contains CD-TEXT information, SwiftDisc will read the CD-TEXT automatically and the audio filenames will be filled for you.
- You can double-click on each track and change the file name. (The extension with which the file will be saved will be determined by the file format you choose later.)
- You can query the Free DB CD database. To do so, press the "Get CD Information" button:

You have three choices:
* Uncompressed Audio (WAV)
To save the CD tracks as Uncompressed Audio, select the WAV option. The audio files will preserve the original CD quality. The uncompressed audio file extension will be ".WAV". WAV files are the standard sound format for PCs. The WAV files are supported by all Windows applications which support sound.
* Windows Media Audio (WMA)
To save the CD tracks as Windows Media Audio files, select the WMA option. Select the compression parameters from the "Encoding Profiles" drop-down list. The larger the bit rate, the better the quality. The better the quality, the bigger the file size. The Windows media audio file extension is ".WMA". The file can be played on all audio players supporting the WMA format.
* Vorbis Audio
To save the CD tracks as Vorbis Audio files, select the OGG option. Select the parameters from the "Encoding Profiles" drop-down list. The Vorbis audio file extension is ".OGG"
Abbreviations Meaning:
VBR - Variable Bit Rate
ABR - Average Bit Rate
CBR - Constant Bit Rate
When you are done, press the “Finish” button.
6. Watch SwiftDisc reading the audio from your CD
The next page shows you the audio ripping progress.
