In this post, I will show how you can create your own custom audio CD using SwiftDisc Burning Wizard. The instructions below are for SwiftDisc Burning Wizard version 2.30.
You can use SwiftDisc Burning Wizard to create an audio CD from any songs on your computer. Burning CDs from a mix of songs makes it easy to listen to only the songs you want. It is also useful if you want to create a mix CD as a present for a friend. The instructions below are for SwiftDisc Burning Wizard 2.30.
1. Install SwiftDisc Burning Wizard.
You can download and install SwiftDisc Burning Wizard from http://www.swiftdisc.com. For this tutorial, we will use SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Standard edition. However, if were you using the Premium edition, the steps would be the same.
Once you have set up SwiftDisc Burning Wizard, you can proceed to creating your own mix CD.
In the steps below, the settings adjustments may vary according to your preferences; only the simplest ones are shown. You can find more information about each screen by clicking the “Help” tab at the top of the screen.
2. Start up SwiftDisc Burning Wizard.
You can run SwiftDisc Burning Wizard from:
* The start menu: Go to “Start” -> Select “All programs” -> Double click on “SwiftDisc Burning Wizard”, or
* The shortcut on your desktop that the installation created. You can simply double-click on the “SwiftDisc Burning Wizard” icon.
3. Choose project.
After starting SwiftDisc Burning Wizard, you will initially be shown an “About” dialog. Press “Continue”. This will lead you to the initial screen of the program:
To create a new Audio CD, you must start an Audio project by selecting the option “Audio Project” and, if necessary, pressing “Next >”, which will lead you to the following screen:
Select the option “Burn Audio CD” and, if necessary, press the “Next >” button.
3. Select a CD burner.
SwiftDisc will list your CD burner devices. Select a device by clicking on it with the mouse. Basic information about the device and the disc inserted in it is displayed for the selected item. At this point also, make sure you have inserted a blank CD media in the device.
When you have chosen the device, press “Next >”.
Note: If you are using SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Premium Edition, you can select multiple devices to burn multiple discs with same content and quality in the same session.
4. Add songs to your CD.
The next screen is split into two panels. Use the at the top panel to find the songs on your computer. The bottom panel shows the songs that will be on the new CD.
You can add songs to the CD by dragging songs with the mouse from the top panel (which is your computer) to the bottom panel (which will become you mix CD). Alternatively you can select the files and use the “+” button to add them to the CD. The “+” button is located in the middle, between the top and the bottom panels.
Once have you added the songs to the list at the bottom, you can reorder the songs by dragging them up and down with the mouse, or by using the little “Up” and “Down” arrow buttons between the two panels.
At the very bottom of the screen, you can see the CD playback time. That Will show you how much space is available. A typical blank CD can fit 79 minutes of audio.
When you are ready with your compilation, press the “Next” button.
5. Edit additional settings.
On the next screen you can add or edit the song information, such as the song or album titles, performer and genre.
When you are ready, press “Next>”.
6. Set the burning speed and other settings.
On this page, you can configure specific settings on how you want your CD to be burned. SwiftDisc already chooses the best settings for your device, so if you are not sure about them, you can leave the default configuration as it is.
When you are ready to proceed with the actual recording of your audio mix, press “Finish”.
7. Burning.
This screen shows the progress and various stages of the CD burning. Progress is shown for each individual song (track).
When the burning completes, you can press “Exit” to close the program, or “Continue” to go on to the next page.
8. Burn the same project again, or start a new project.
After the burning finishes you new audio CD is ready. You can now burn another CD from your compilation by inserting a blank CD in the burner device and clicking on the “Burn This Project Again” button.
9. Save your project
Although this step is optional I recommend you save your project by clicking on the “Save Project” button. In this way you have all your songs and settings in case you want to burn the same mix CD in the future.
